Alan Greenspan, Chuck Prince and Bob Rubin face a grilling on Capitol Hill next week when a bipartisan commission studying the causes of the financial crisis meets for its latest public hearings.
Mr Greenspan, the former chairman of the Federal Reserve, whom critics blame for keeping interest rates too low and fomenting the housing bubble, will face the commission on Wednesday. Mr Prince, the former chief executive of Citigroup, and Mr Rubin, the former Treasury secretary and former Citi chairman, are due to appear in the House of Representatives on Thursday. Citi was among the largest beneficiaries of government assistance to the banking sector during the slump, receiving $45bn in bail-out money.
