Login with your HSPD-12 PIV or DoD CAC Card

What is this?

What is PIV or CAC Login?

If you have a card reader attached to your workstation, you are ready for two-factor authentication into MAX. You may use any authorized agency-provided HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card or DoD Common Access Card (CAC). PIV/CAC logins are more secure and faster than the single-factor User ID and Password mechanism and should be used whenever possible.

To use your card, you still need to register for a MAX account. Once you have an account, MAX will help you associate the card with your User ID and Password.

You only need to go through the registration and card association process once. The MAX Authentication System will walk you through the entire process. Please be sure to have your User ID and Password available the first time.

Please make sure your card is plugged into the reader

Login with your: Agency Login (federated partners only)

What is this?

What is Agency/Federated Partner Login?

MAX now supports federated partner logins. For participants, this means that you may use your agency login in place of MAX ID and password. Click on your agency button and MAX will route you through your agency authenticator. If you are already logged in at your agency, you will be connected directly to MAX without further prompt. Otherwise, you will be prompted for your agency credentials. If you exclusively use this feature for MAX login, you no longer need to periodically update your MAX password.

If you do not have a MAX ID, please register for one here.
