The focus of this meeting was on commercial technology options for reactor and fuel cycle technologies and actions that could be taken to enable first movers in these technologies. The meeting also addressed the role local communities and governments should play in the development and demonstration of new nuclear technologies and the key safety, environmental and security concerns for
local communities. The meeting also addressed the issues of the U.S. manufacturing sector and the labor force’s ability to support new reactor and fuel cycle technologies.
