Russia Meeting
Location
The BRC went to Moscow on February 17, 2011 to meet with the various entities that are working in concert to increase the nuclear capacity of that country, as well as close the fuel cycle. In the span of one day, the BRC met with the US Ambassador to Russia, John Beyrle, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian state nuclear energy corporation- Rosatom, and attended a meeting at the Duma convened specifically for the BRC to discuss Russian nuclear energy policy. The final meeting of the day was with the Moscow-based NGO, The Center for Energy and Security Studies that provided an alternative basis for viewing and analyzing the Russian approach to dealing with the back end of the nuclear cycle.
