LA detectives probe death of boy, 2, who was under protective supervision of social workers

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy who was under the protective supervision of social workers when he died.

The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday ( ) that Josue-Rey Maldonado of Signal Hill was pronounced dead at a hospital Aug. 10. A Department of Children and Family Services report reviewed by the newspaper cites homicide as the apparent cause of death and notes bruising was observed on the boy’s body.
