LA detectives probe death of boy, 2, who was under protective supervision of social workers
LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy who was under the protective supervision of social workers when he died.
The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday (http://lat.ms/Z8pnU8 ) that Josue-Rey Maldonado of Signal Hill was pronounced dead at a hospital Aug. 10. A Department of Children and Family Services report reviewed by the newspaper cites homicide as the apparent cause of death and notes bruising was observed on the boy’s body. But sheriff’s detectives said an official cause of death would be determined after a coroner’s investigation. Read more»
