On this page, you can learn more about the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), how TARP dollars have been spent, and TARP's impact on the economy, and you can read the Panel's correspondence with Treasury and other agencies. For further details about the Panel and its members, please visit the About Us page.
TARP Accounting
Treasury has committed a total of up to $475 billion in TARP funds, of which $158.1 billion is currently outstanding. The chart below displays current funding for several programs, as well as the current cap on foreclosure prevention payments.

Details of the Panel's accounting for TARP in past months are available below.
TARP Metrics
The Panel tracks a number of metrics that are useful in assessing the effectiveness of TARP. The graph below displays foreclosure rates (the red line) and the Case-Shiller home price index (the blue line). In general, higher foreclosure rates and lower home prices indicate weakness in the housing market.

Details of various economic metrics in past months are available below.
Panel Correspondence
In the course of its oversight work, the Panel frequently corresponds with Treasury, other federal agencies, and other entities with a stake in the TARP. Copies of letters sent by and to the Panel are available below.
