J. Mark McWatters is an attorney and certified public accountant who has spent the past 25 years practicing tax law and structuring mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. He acted as tax counsel with HBK Capital Management after serving as a partner with Patton Boggs LLP, Fulbright & Jaworski LLP and Hughes & Luce LLP (now K&L Gates LLP). Mark earned his juris doctorate from the University of Texas and a master of laws from each of New York University (taxation) and Columbia University, and was a judicial clerk to the Honorable Walter Ely of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mark and his wife, Denise, live with their two children in Dallas.
