US Treasury's Geithner to meet with TARP overseers

WASHINGTON Jan 28 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will meet on Wednesday with individuals charged with providing outside oversight to the federal government's $700 billion financial rescue program.

Geithner will review efforts to date to improve transparency and accountability in the Troubled Asset Relief Program, the Treasury said in a statement.

Participants in the 1:30 p.m. (1830 GMT) meeting include Neil Barofsky, the TARP special inspector general; Gene Dodaro, acting comptroller general for the Government Accountability Office; Elizabeth Warren, chairman of the Congressional Oversight Panel, along with panel members Damon Silvers, Richard Neiman, Rep.
