Karen Sorber

Experience: Karen Sorber's 33 years' work in government and industry includes an extensive operational contracting background, with 20 years conducting or managing studies and assessments in policy, management, and the technical aspects of acquisition. She was most recently a senior principal with Acquisition Solutions after more than 15 years as research fellow and project leader with the Logistics Management Institute.

Karen's clients have included the Departments of Defense, State, and Homeland Security, as well as FEMA. Working with over 20 federal agencies, she helped develop the first-ever Acquisition/Federal Interface Systems Requirements document - a key aid for government agencies as they develop their financial management information systems. Karen has held private-sector pre- and post-award contract management posts. She has worked for both the Naval Sea Systems and Army Military Traffic Management Commands, handling operational assignments including those of procuring contracting officer and contracting specialist.

Certifications: Certified Professional Contracts Manager and Fellow, National Contract Management Association. Qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as well as to teach Inner Quality Management, Institute of HeartMath.

Education: BA, business administration, Luther Rice College; MS, contracting and acquisition management, Florida Institute of Technology.
