Transocean's newbuild rig Development Driller III recently began operations in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The double-skinned semisubmersible rig features advanced offshore drilling technology and the capability to drill ultra-deep wells in ultra deepwater.
The drillship Discoverer Americas brings ultra-deepwater drilling to the forefront with the capability of drilling wells up to 40,000 feet deep while working in up to 12,000 feet of water.


The Transocean ultra-deepwater drillship Discoverer Clear Leader starts operations under a five-year contract as the first enhanced Enterprise-class drillship.

The Limbe Wildlife Center in the Republic of Cameroon received a special gift from Transocean to help ensure the survival of gorillas, chimps, mandrills, drill monkeys, rock pythons, dwarf crocodiles, African grey parrots and other species of wildlife, most of them endangered, and to support the education and awareness of Cameroon's unique wildlife. Transocean's ultra-deepwater drillship, Discoverer Clear Leader, recently sailed from the DSME shipyard at Okpo, South Korea, as the first of Transocean's five enhanced Enterprise-class newbuild drillships. Designed to drill wells 40,000 feet deep, including 12,000 feet of water depth, the Discoverer Clear Leader�has a five-year drilling contract with Chevron for operations in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
