Historic Tornado Hits Mississippi April 24

Over 1,500 volunteers have worked to tarp homes, sort and distribute donations, and clear structural and vegetative debris in storm affected communities across central and northern Mississippi. Thank you for the outpouring of volunteer support! If you would like to assist those recently affected by tornados and flooding in our state, please see contacts for each community below.

Across Mississippi, volunteers serve their communities everyday - become a volunteer!

  • Register with your local Volunteer Center for opportunities in your community.
  • Ask your employer about their Corporate Volunteer Program.
  • Pre-register as a health professional or non-medical support personnel in a health-risk emergency with the MS Department of Health's VIPR database.
  • Or enroll for a one-year term as a National Service member - many full-time positions are available, with some offering a living allowance and other in-service benefits.
