House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-Ky.) on Monday unveiled a continuing resolution to continue government operations and cut federal spending. Why C-SPAN can never get cameras on the House floor

In November, seizing on Republicans' calls for more transparency in the health-care debate, C-SPAN asked incoming Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) if they could bring cameras onto the House floor. The response has just come back: Sorry, but no. Will C-SPAN ever get the access they crave? Probably not. Fighting over camera angles goes back to 1984, only a few years after television came to the House.

Less than a month into their tenure controlling the House, Republicans have scrapped a small but symbolically important element of the "Green the Capitol" initiative that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) installed when she was Speaker. Specifically, they're trashing Pelosi's compostable forks and food trays.
