Biography:I am a native of Minnesota where I attended Minnesota State University, Mankato. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2002. In the summer of 2002 I began research for my Master of Science on the Biology, Distribution, and Waterfowl use of sago pondweed. I received my Master of Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato in December 2004. Since then I have been a Research Associate in the Geosystems Research Institute and earned my PhD in Weed Science in August 2010.

Research Interest: My research interests include understanding the ecological mechanisms involved in the spread of invasive aquatic plants and the application of management techniques to control these species. We have ongoing research at the mesocosm and lake-scale looking at plant community structure and control techniques for invasive plants.

Hobbies:I enjoy spending my time outdoors particularly, duck hunting, fishing, and camping.
