National Gap Analysis Program
The Gap Analysis Program seeks to keep common species common by identifying those native animal and plant communities that are not adequately represented in existing conservation lands. GAP comprises a community of state and federal agencies, private organizations, and universities that collaborate on state and regional projects.

Southwest Regional Gap Analysis Project

The Southwest Regional Gap Analysis Project is a coordinated effort among the U.S. states of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah to identify the degree to which native animal species and natural communities are represented in our present-day mix of conservation lands. The photos included here record the different land cover types found within these states.
