Behavior
Ethology is researched by observing an organism’s natural instincts, competitive displays, survival tactics, learning habits, and group living. Understanding animal behavior is a key to ensuring the proliferation of each species.

Communication

Animals convey information through song, vocalization, scent-marking, pheromones, or visual displays. Subtle or bold, intentional or instinctual all communication has a vital purpose in the fitness of each species.

Grooming

Taking a dip in water can cool body temperature or cleanse an animal. Water is not the only means of cleaning as cats use their saliva, birds and elephants take dust baths while primates pick through fur for dirt and parasites.

Migration

Changes in habitat, food supplies or temperature often dictate when a species must relocate. Many species trek, seasonally or perpetually, in order to locate abundant resources rather than adapting to their changing surroundings.

Play!

Whimsical chasing, tumbling, and biting is not only fun but essential to muscle development and coordination. Skills earned include; family bonding, pecking order, communication, and tactics to hunt and avoid hunters.
