In the 2012 President's Budget Request, the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) is terminated. As a result, all resources, databases, tools, and applications within this web site will be removed on January 15, 2012. For more information, please refer to the NBII Program Termination page.
NBII Applications will no longer be available after January 15, 2012: The main Web site, www.nbii.gov, of the National Biological Information Infrastructure, or NBII, will be taken off-line on January 15, 2012. This is as a result of the 2012 President's Budget Request for termination of the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) Program. Therefore, after that date any applications, Web sites, or tools that currently exist, hosted either at USGS or at a partner site with a *.nbii.gov domain name, will no longer be accessible via the www.nbii.gov site.
Two areas have been created to which show the final disposition for all NBII Applications, Websites, and Databases. These areas are:
No Longer Supported - All NBII Applications that are no longer available.
Partner Supported - All NBII Applications that will be supported by past NBII partners are provided along with the partner organization responsible for the application.
The NBII Program is administered by the Biological Informatics Program of the U.S. Geological Survey
