In the 2012 President's Budget Request, the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) is terminated. As a result, all resources, databases, tools, and applications within this web site will be removed on January 15, 2012. For more information, please refer to the NBII Program Termination page.
Step 1. WMS Enable your Internet Mapping application.
By enabling your Internet Mapping Applications for OGC WMS access, you are sharing them with the broader audience of users, not just those who would access your application, but also by other applications who can use your data remotely.
Step 2. Register your WMS enabled application in the GIF.
This step involves registering your WMS enabled application by ensuring your node enters the application in the the NBII Web Resources Database. There are specific instructions on entering your WMS Enabled application so it will be harvested into our NBII GIF Catalog of Web Map Services (NBII-GIF-CWMS).
This step involves extending your WMS Enabled application to search the NBII-GIF catalog and allow your application's users to add layers from other NBII map services, as well as using other geospatial services such as the Gazetteer service.
