Google Maps with Point Overlays from GBIF
This map example was created using the Google Maps API version 2.x. The map shows a sample of data from an online database plotted on the Google Map using the Latitude and Longitude in the database.
Google Maps with WMS Layers Added
Here is an example of GAP and NatureServe WMS Maps added to the Google Map using the Google Map API.
NBII Bounding Box Service Client
This document describes how to integrate NBII ‘Bounding Box service’ into a web-based application. NBII ‘Bounding Box service’ (NBIIBB service) is HTPP based service and requires HTTP communication between NBIIBB server and its client i.e. the application requesting the service.

Simple OGC WMS Client using JavaScript and HTML
This script demonstrates a very simple client application for OGC's Web Mapping Services. The map is constructed from several WMS layers on different WMS Servers from USGS and NBII.
Simple OGC WMS Client using JavaScript and HTML: GAPServe verison
This script demonstrates a more complex client application for OGC's Web Mapping Services. The map is constructed from hundreds of the GAP Analysis Programs WMS layers using PhP for dynamic.

NBII Geospatial Portal
The NBII Geospatial Portal is the interim product delivered as part of the Stage One Geospatial Interoperability Framework (GIF). The Geospatial portal allows users to search and display maps and maps layers that have been made compliant with one or more of the OGC specifications (WMS, WFS, or WCS).
NBII Catalog of Web Map Services (CWMS) Capabilities
The NBII Catalog of Web Map Services (NBII-GIF CWMS), an OGC Catalog Service, is the core of the NBII Geospatial Interoperability Framework. This service level catalog is a repository for geospatial services, most noteably the Node or Partner Interactive Mapping Applications that have been enabled for open access using the specifications from the OGC. (WMS , WFS and/ or WCS enabled). The catalog meets the OGC CWS 2.0 specification and as such can be harvested or accessed using the CWS 2.0 specification
NBII GIF Functional Requirements Document
This document details the functional requirements for a Geospatial Interoperability Framework withing NBII, based on the NBII Enterprise Architecture.
NBII GIF General Design Document
This document, based on the goals and requirements as developed in the functional requirements, contains the General Design for the Geospatial Interoperability Framework withing NBII. This document lays out the three stages in which the GIF will be implemented.
NBII GIF General Design Diagrams
These diagrams help depict the General Design of the GIF graphically.
