The Great Basin Information Project's Science Locator is a comprehensive project-oriented research and management information tool for the entire Intermountain West. It is a joint project of the Great Basin Information Project and SAGEMAP, designed to be an efficient communication and collaboration tool for natural resource scientists and managers in the western United States.

The map-based interactive website provides location, description, and contact information for research and management projects throughout the region. When used effectively, the Locator can reduce redundancy of effort, enhance research objectives, and facilitate effective management by linking individuals working on similar projects or similar geographic areas.

The Internet Map Server interface allows you to select from the full list of projects based on the primary focus or class of project, sponsoring agency, or principal scientist. A map will indicate locations of projects, and a simple click of a button will open a window with the project description.
