Welcome to the
MSB Bird Division

The Museum of Southwestern Biology's Division of Birds maintains an extensive research collection of western North American birds. Most of the Division's holdings are from the American Southwest. However, the Division also has representatives of a large percentage of the families of the birds of the world. It also contains historic specimens of threatened, endangered and extinct species of North America.

The Division of Birds is open by appointment only during regular business hours. Visitors must call or e-mail the Collection Manager (Andy Johnson) in advance (505-277-1359) or email ajohnson 'at' unm.edu to arrange a date and time for using the collection.
