Found a mature Miconia tree in Nuuanu today behind a residence. The leaves were green underneath and were smaller in size. Heads up in the forest!!! Literally. Heads up.

Oahu Invasive Species Committee
This is a great example of the damage done by feral goats. The right side of the ridge is green, full of A'ali'i and home to natives like Tetramolopium sp. and the left side of the ridge is completely brown from goat damage.

We found a patch of large plants (not mature) in Manoa Valley. Next step will be aerial spraying because of the steepness of the area.

Wow, what a Monday OISC had. Keoki arrived at the baseyard to find the containers had been broken into and equipment and a truck stolen! They even took our duct tape! The good news is that we got the truck back in drivable condition the same day. Mahalo to HPD for finding it!

Taylor Marsh Since this is a mature tree, it is extremely possible that there are many seeds in the area (with a seed bank of over twenty years), so there will be a new survey buffer of 450 meters of this plant and will be revisited regularly.

Biggest coqui frog we've ever seen on O`ahu! Yikes! Here's a link to coqui calls in case you hear some nocturnal squeaking.
