Botanical Societies

Botanical Societies are great groups to hang out with! Their members often include people from lots of different backgrounds and areas of botanical expertise. They can help you identify a strange plant or just plain get you excited about all of the neat things there are to learn about plants. The Botanical Society of America summed up their mission well on their Web site stating: "Our primary purpose is to promote botany, the field of basic science dealing with the study and inquiry into the form, function, development, diversity, reproduction, evolution, and uses of plants and their interactions within the biosphere."
