Supported Projects

The Mountain Prairie Information Node provides access to information about biological resources in the mountains and prairies of the north-central United States that contributes to the collaborative conservation of these resource, including tools and processes that facilitate data integration. The Mountain Prairie Node works with regional and national partners to provide access to geospatial products and data. Supported Projects:
  • Big Sky Sequestration Project (BSCSP) Carbon Atlas, a spatial database and geoportal on carbon sources, sinks, and related infrastructure in the region of the BSCSP.
  • Butterflies and Moths of North America, an interactive, searchable, and updateable web-enabled database of butterfly and moth records.
  • Children's Butterfly Site, an educational website for children that includes photographs, coloring book pages, and life cycle information for butterflies and moths.
  • Greater Yellowstone Network Climate Monitoring Program, a collaborative effort to better understand climate variability in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem through monitoring and synthesis of regional climate data.
  • PrairieMap, a geospatial data clearinghouse supporting research, management, and conservation of prairie grassland ecosystems in western North America.
  • Whirling Disease Maps & Data, which includes an interactive map for the whirling disease parasite's known distribution in the US, and a searchable repository of metadata, datasets, and projects funded by the Whirling Disease Initiative.
  • Yellowstone GIS Data, downloadable GIS data layers of the Greater Yellowstone Region.
