What is the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Program

TRI is a database containing data on disposal or other releases of over 600 toxic chemicals from thousands of U.S. facilities and information about how facilities manage those chemicals through recycling, energy recovery, and treatment. One of TRI's primary purposes is to inform communities about toxic chemical releases to the environment.

2010 TRI National Analysis Now Available

The National Analysis, the annual report that displays EPA's analysis and interpretation of the most recent TRI data, is now available in English and Spanish. The National Analysis documents and webpages outline national and local trends in toxic chemical disposal or other releases to the environment.

TRI's myRTK Mobile App Now Available in Spanish

The easiest way to find information on toxic chemical releases in your community is now even more accessible! EPA's myRTK application, usable on smart phones and desktop computers, is now available in Spanish. For any location, myRTK maps facilities that report to the Toxics Release Inventory and shows what chemicals are being released to air, water and land. Users can find out about the potential health effects associated with these chemicals and learn whether a particular facility is in compliance with major environmental laws.
