NOAA's National Climatic Data Center is now producing separate regional indices for the eastern two thirds of the U.S. These new indices are collectively known as the Regional Snowfall Index (RSI). The RSI also includes detailed population and area of snowfall information that can be viewed and downloaded for over 500 storms from 1900 through present.
