The California Information Node (CAIN) provides access to data and information about California's environment. In addition to offering a website gateway to environmental information, CAIN is coordinating among data owners and informatics researchers to develop and test new tools to make important biodiversity data easier to locate and use. • Butterflies of California, Dr. Art Shapiro's site containing access to butterfly records collected over 34 years of observation in central California.
• California Ecoregion Browser, an interactive map display for USFS ecological subregions in California.
• California Partners in Flight Interactive Map, an interactive map of focal bird species breeding status, study areas, status, and other detailed information.
• CaprICE Plant Species Distribution Map, a web-enabled database of plant species for California.
• CRISISCat, a catalog for California invasive species resources.
• CRISISMaps, an interactive display of weed observations in California and the Southwest.
• Informatics Research and SPIRE Project, semantic web research conducted by the Information Center for the Environment at UC Davis.
• Napa Vegetation Map, spatial data layers for vegetation in Napa county, California.
• Tricolored Blackbird Portal, a source for data and information about this focal bird species.
