Galveston Bay Plan Booklet

The Galveston Bay Estuary and associated watershed are comprised of numerous ecosystems positioned amid Houston, Texas, an urban and industrial center. The natural resources within the watershed provide ecological services, recreational opportunities, transportation links, economic benefits and aesthetic rewards. Diverse uses and a rich natural heritage come together creating key issues including water quality degradation, habitat loss and the introduction of invasive species. Private industry, natural resource agencies, nonprofit organizations and the public work together to address these issues through The Galveston Bay Plan. The Plan provides a framework to ensure the protection and sustainable use of the Galveston Bay Watershed for generations to come.
