Wind-Wildlife Impacts Literature Database (WILD)

WILD is a searchable bibliographic database of documents that focuses on the effects of wind energy development on wildlife.

About the Database

WILD contains research related to onshore as well as offshore wind development and includes contributions from around the world.  The database includes documents from journal articles, conference proceedings, government publications, books, and utility company reports.  WILD is searchable by a number of parameters, including keyword, title, author, and publication date.

The database is maintained by the National Wind Technology Center (NWTC) and is continually updated as new publications become available.  Users are encouraged to contact the NWTC regarding documents that should be added to the database. Suggestions for improving the database are also welcome.

Acknowledgments

The basis of the Avian Literature Database is two documents originally compiled by or for the California Energy Commission. One document, Effects of Wind Energy Development: An Annotated Bibliography (P700-96-001CN), was prepared by Susan Orloff and Anne Flannery from Ibis Environmental Services for BioSystems Analysis, Inc. in 1996. The second document, Avian Collision and Electrocution: An Annotated Bibliography (P700-95-001), was prepared by staff at the California Energy Commission and was completed in 1995. These two documents have been aggregated into the database.
