Alien Invasions - Plants on the Move
Weed curriculum for grades K-12, or information for organizational education/outreach activities. Developed by BLM staff and a host of experts; pilot tested in schools throughout Oregon and now is ready to go. All lessons fit within existing mandated National Science Education Standards (NSES). Many activities integrate social studies, art, language arts, and math components. They combine invasive plant information within regularly scheduled NSES curriculum topics.

Invasive Plants Take Root in Alaska Curriculum
Homer Soil and Water Conservation District.
This curriculum was designed for grades 9-12 and is intended to be a resource for educators to integrate into their classroom one of the most substantial threats to global biodiversity and agriculture alike - invasive species. The curriculum includes a variety of modules including labs and an online mapping exercise where students can check out local maps of invasive ornamental plants in Alaska. This program encourages students to delve into a locally-relevant, rapidly developing issue of invasive plants which are an increasing problem in Southcentral Alaska. The materials were developed for Kenai Peninsula science teachers but much of the material is appropriate for use state wide.
