When: Third Saturday monthly 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Contact South Woods Presevation Group Why: Help eliminate invasive ivy, invasive holly and preserve South Woods Notes: If you have tools please bring them, if you don't please come anyway. Useful tools: pruning shears, shovels, loppers, wheelbarrows, small saws, old tarp. Label any tools you bring with your ownership. Dress for the weather, wear gloves. Bring your own water bottle. Tacoma | Point Defiance Park Time: Work parties are from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Rain or shine! Date: Location: Native Plant Garden, Pt. Defiance Directions: To reach the Native Garden, drive in the main entrance to the park from Pearl St. in Ruston, circle back toward the exit through the zoo parking lot, turning left on the exit road. The garden and parking area will be on your right, just past the zoo parking lot, as you near the park exit, south of the zoo. Notes: Be prepared for chilly and damp weather. Possibly muddy conditions. Heavy rain cancels. Tools, gloves, water and snacks provided. We recommend participants bring a reuseable water bottle or cup and personal gloves (but not required). All of our work parties include tools, snacks, beverages, restrooms, and most of all great attitudes. Adults: Sign in with contact information and liability waiver form before 9am. Minors (under 18): have parent or guardian sign liability form and present it to the event leader at start of event. We encourage families to volunteer and have various levels of activities for many age ranges.
