Aquatic Invasive Species Program Went Smoothly In 2010 (Nov 22, 2010)
Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
The first boating season under Wyoming's new Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) legislation was deemed a success based on the numbers of boats inspected, AIS decal sales and overall cooperation from boaters. From May 22 through Sep 26, Wyoming Game and Fish Department personnel inspected more than 42,000 watercraft at 36 different waters. According to the AIS coordinator, the majority were standard inspections with very few high risk inspections or decontaminations. In addition to inspections, more than 40 waters were monitored for larval, juvenile and adult invasive mussels during 2010. To date, all waters tested have been negative with final results on 20 of these waters expected later this year. The initative to target AIS was announced in Mar 2010.

Emergency Aquatic Invasive Species Regulation Now Permanent (Jul 26, 2010)
Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
The emergency regulation providing for the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) program is now permanent following the recent signing by Wyoming's Governor. The regulation provides for inspection of watercraft by authorized AIS watercraft inspectors or by any peace officer. Enforcement provisions are also provided in the regulation.
