Invasive Species Alert Systems
Invasive species alert systems send verified notifications to subscribers to let them know about invasive species that have been found in their area. Invasive species watch lists and species lists provide researchers, land managers, and conservationists with a checklist of species to look for and guard against. Invasive species on watch lists may have been detected in a neighboring state or county, or perhaps at the source of a river that passes through your area. Early detection of an invasive species where it has already become established can be the most important step towards preventing its spread to new areas.
The NBII Program is administered by the Biological Informatics Program of the U.S. Geological Survey
