Executive Order 13112 requires the National Invasive Species Council (Council) to produce a National Management Plan (NMP) for Invasive Species every two years. In January 2001, the Council released the first NMP, which serves as a blueprint for all federal action on invasive species. The Plan was written in association with eight working groups, the Invasive Species Advisory Committee, and input obtained from the public at public hearings held across the country. The Council is currently working to establish federal and non-federal task teams to implement the action items of the NMP.

The updated 2008 National Invasive Species Management Plan is available on this Web site in PDF format. The previous version (2001) is available in both HTML and PDF formats. If you would like to obtain a hardcopy of the plan, please call the Council staff at (202) 513-7243 or e-mail us at invasivespecies@ios.doi.gov.
