What is AIRD?

The Aquatic Invasions Research Directory (AIRD), created by the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, is a free database designed to promote information transfer, coordination, and collaborative research on the invasion of aquatic ecosystems. AIRD contains current information on people, research, technology, policy and management issues relevant to aquatic invasions.

AIRD provides a resource:

  1. To learn quickly about the extent and scope of topic-specific activities;
  2. Research geographic locations of existing or past activities; and,
  3. Provides contact information and available publications for each study.

Whether you are a student searching for contact information or a policy maker interested in the latest ballast water technology, your questions will be answered by simply searching AIRD.
