The Big Sky Carbon Sequestration Partnership (BSCSP) is pleased to host our annual meeting at the Best Western Heritage Inn in Great Falls, Montana from April 18-19, 2012. This meeting will address key issues related to the science, policy and technology of carbon capture and storage.

The Big Sky Carbon Sequestration Partnership (BSCSP) is excited to begin work on an eight-year, large scale carbon storage research project in northern Montana.

The Big Sky Carbon Sequestration Partnership (BSCSP) is one of the U.S. Department of Energy's seven regional carbon sequestration partnerships. The partnerships engage key stakeholders to create a nationwide network that will help determine the best approaches for capturing and permanently storing greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change.

The BSCSP region encompasses Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, South Dakota, eastern Washington and Oregon. Its membership includes universities, national laboratories, private companies, state agencies and Native American tribes. The BSCSP relies on existing technologies from the fields of engineering, geology, chemistry, biology, geographic information systems (GIS) and economics to develop novel approaches for both geologic and terrestrial carbon storage in our region. The BSCSP engages in cutting-edge carbon sequestration research and development; economic and regulatory analyses; public education and outreach; and regional demonstration projects to deploy new technologies.
