Thank you for visiting the Department of Biological Sciences at Boise State University. We offer a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate education that spans the breadth of the contemporary biological sciences and prepares students for real world careers. We have award winning professors who combine an enthusiasm for classroom teaching with cutting edge research.

The department is a vibrant place where more than 600 students currently pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees in biology. Even with this large number, faculty and students work in close collaboration.

Undergraduate students pursue a broad-based and highly flexible biology curriculum or choose from one of seven emphasis areas: Botany, Ecology, Environmental Biology, Human Biology, Microbiology, Molecular and Cell Biology, and Zoology. Or, students can pursue a degree in Biology, Secondary Education and enter a teaching career.

We also offer MS and MA degrees in Biology and are the home to the only MS graduate program in Raptor Biology in the country. We are in the process of expanding our graduate program offerings with an interdisciplinary PhD in Biomolecular Sciences expected to start Fall 2012

Please take the time to explore the exceptional educational opportunities at Boise State University and in the Department of Biological Sciences. We would be pleased to answer any questions that you have concerning our programs.
