Diversity. As the most ethnically diverse community in the United States, the Borough President's Office - in association with the Queens General Assembly - has published a calendar of important holidays and events throughout the world.

Business. Queens is Open for Business. With our diverse work force and new land development, many opportunities exist for growth. Review our calendars of current events to see how we can help your business.

Education. Our educational system is constantly changing to ensure that our students receive the best instruction and training. Learn more about funding, school governance and the educational framework within New York City.

Culture. As the most diverse community in the nation, Queens residents have a broad and unique perspective on the world. Please visit the Cultural Affairs section to learn more about our activities.

Recreation. The Parks Department is proud to unveil our latest brochure outlining all the fun things to do and see in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The Park is home not only to the Unisphere, but the US Open Tennis Tournament, Queens Theatre in the Park, and more.

Growth. Rreal estate development is revitalizing the Borough of Queens. We are pleased to present this collection of photos and architectural renderings highlighting development in some of our most important communities, including:

  • Long Island City
  • Jamaica
  • Forest Hills
  • Rockaway

This development will also benefit residents. In addition to working with the business community, this office works tirelessly to provide for your safety and convenience making Queens a great place to live. We work with City, State and Federal Agencies, Community Boards and other groups to ensure that all Queens residents have the services they need.

Queens Poet Laureate 2010-2013
On June 17, 2010 Queens Borough President Helen Marshall was joined by Queens College President James Muyskens at an installation ceremony for the fifth Poet Laureate of Queens, Paolo Javier, who will serve in this position from 2010 to 2013.
