CollapseConvention on Biological Diversity Controlled Vocabulary
Description: From the Web site: " The CBD Controlled Vocabulary was developed with the intent to provide the Secretariat with a list of terms to be used as descriptors, i.e., metadata, for web pages on the Convention’s web site. The list can also be used by Clearing-house Mechanism (CHM) national focal points to describe the contents of their national CHM web sites." Preferred terms are indicated in term listings, and broader, narrower, and related terms are listed, with hyperlinks to rotate term listings. As of July 2006, the primary language of the controlled vocabulary is English; however, the system will also provide term translations into languages supported by the CBD Secretariat: French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, and Chinese. A print version in PDF format is also available for download, as is an XML version of the vocabulary.
