The herbarium of California State University, Stanislaus (SHTC) contains approximately 4,000 specimens, mostly of local species, and it used primarily for teaching. The herbarium houses several hundred specimens of the genus Arnica collected by Steven J. Wolf. Current research projects include a treatment of the genus Arnica for the Flora of North America Project and a revision of Arnica subgenus Andropurpurea.
