Help Keep Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Open!

The Sonoma Ecology Center is leading a partnership of local organizations to keep Sugarloaf Ridge State Park open!

Effective December 1st, the state will no longer allow vehicle access to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, as budget reductions and limited staff resources have forced State Parks officials to reduce service to Valley state parks.

Our "Team Sugarloaf" has submitted a letter of intent to the State of California to operate the park and retain all public use features including the campground, observatory, and trails. We will continue negotiations with the expectation that our community will join us in this effort and together we will be able to fully open the park again by July, 2012.
