Arkansas Environmental Education Association

As the state affiliate of the NAAEE, this is an online clearing house for environmental education materials in Arkansas. Per membership ($25/year; professional rate), it offers access to scholarships, discounts to events, workshops, and expos, and the EE Resource Directory. The website also provides a platform for adding links relating to personal environmental education materials.

Environmental Education Association of New Mexico

The EEANM is a state affiliate of the North American Association of Environmental Education which offers opportunities for professional development, communication, and partnership. Provided is a well-annotated list of online general environmental education resources, links to regional environmental education associations, organizations, schools, and New Mexico museums. Online tools include an ECOED online discussion forum, a calendar for education events, and a posting of jobs in environmental education.

Association of Supervisors and Curriculum Developers

Membership ($49 - $189) entitles one the magazine Educational Leadership , discounts, and other professional development resources and newsletters. Available to all users are online articles ($3.00), E-books ($7.95 - $12.95) and free newsletters covering topics related to policy, research, and curricula. ASCD offers three main conferences every year: the Annual Conference; Summer Conference - $429 (ASCD members), $493 (nonmembers); Conference on Teaching and Learning - from $379 to $493 depending on time of registration and membership status. ACSD offers one- to five-day workshops held in regional centers with renowned experts and a team from your school, in addition to convenient web seminars, online and on-site training.

NAAEE - North American Association for Environmental Education

A network of professionals, students, and volunteers working in the field of environmental education; annual professional membership is $55. NAAEE supports online publications (fee) as well as discussion forums. The next Annual NAAEE Conference will be held October 25-29, 2005 in Albuquerque , NM.

NSTA - National Science Teachers Association

NSTA sponsors conventions, publishes professional journals, promotes of standard-based teaching and internet resources, and offers awards and recognition programs for both teachers and students. Members ($74-$178/year) are entitled to 1-4 journals, Science Connections (online resource), and discounted rates at events. Free curricula and lesson plans are also available.

Academic Info - Biodiversity Databases

Academic Info maintains links to a variety of biological and biodiversity resources.  The Biodiversity Databases section maintains information for numerous digital libraries of data and information on biodiversity resources.  There are also sections on environmental studies and biological database resources.

Texas Commission on Environmental Quality

TCEQ regulates air, water, and land pollutants as well as natural resources for the state of Texas. At the K-12 Education link, a large quantity of curricula resources are available including lesson plans for teaching environmental science, school-wide recycling programs, games, coloring books, posters, and fact sheets, the majority of which cost $5.00 or less.
