Arkansas Wildlife Federation

AWF promotes conservation, responsible management, and sustainable use of Arkansas' fish and wildlife habitat, natural resources, and outdoor recreational opportunities through education, advocacy, and political forums. AWF offers 150 acres of wetlands for education and free-of-charge conservation and outdoor recreation programs, more information of which can only be gained through direct contact with their office. AWF's best educational tool is their publication, Arkansas Fish & Wildlife , which is a bimonthly publication.

Louisiana Wildlife Federation

The LWF is a non-profit organization existing to "restore, preserve, develop and increase the birds, fish, game, forestry, wild flowers and all other wildlife resources of the State of Louisiana." LWF gives out conservation awards ( Summit scholarship for teachers), monitors legislation (publishes a comprehensive Legislative Report every year), participates on panels and task forces, and acquires habitat for refuges and wildlife management areas. The Environmental Institute of Houston

EIH exists to address the loss of biodiversity, health risks from pollution, failure of food supplies, and depletion of natural resources in the Houston and Galveston Bay area. Educational programs supported by EIH include the Air Curriculum, Project Learning Tree, natural history training for K-6 th grade teachers in a marsh habitat, School Habitats, and the Texas State Envirothon for 9-12 th grade students. Also provided is an interactive tour of the Texas Gulf Coast for children, online mapping tools, workshops, and student scholarships.

Biodiversity 911 Initiative

Aimed at children and the general public, this site takes a step-by-step interactive approach to present the what, how, and why of the origins, current state, and remedies for the biodiversity crisis. Seven main areas are covered: Biodiversity basics, wildlife trade, soil, forest, fisheries, toxics, and climate change.

GLOBIO

GLOBIO is a U.S.-based non-profit organization dedicated to educating children about the value of biodiversity in our world, primarily by means of the Glossopedia, a digital encyclopedia of biodiversity for children 8-12, and the Wild Orphans Magazine.

National Wildlife Federation

NWF maintains free online wildlife magazines, an ongoing summary of political action items, tips for backyard habitats, and a wildlife photo gallery. In addition to wildlife conservation, the NWF is involved in water resources and land stewardship projects throughout the U.S.

World Wildlife Fund

The WWF works to protect endangered wildlife, preserve wild lands and address global threats and challenges. They supply a free e-newsletter and e-postcards, as well as online games and quizzes for kids relating to biodiversity.
