NZMS COLLECTING SAMPLES INSTRUCTIONS:
Collect up to 10 of the suspect snails. Place them directly into a container with 70-95% ethanol (rubbing alcohol will also work) and place vials in the freezer.

Measure depth at each sampling site regardless of whether snails are present.General habitat type:
Record sediment type (based on how the rake feels when in contact with the bottom) at each site where snails are sampled as:(a) mudy, (b) sandy, or (c) rocky.Photos:
For photos, sharp focus is most important, and close-ups of the diagnostic features such as (e.g. # of whorls, operculum) are very helpful, as well as an overall view of specimen. If possible use small coin for scale
