When new and emerging invasive plants are detected in Minnesota, the Invasive Species Exclusion Unit rapidly responds. We may respond in different ways: - We may use an Emergency Response Plan. It is a standard way to confirm the initial pest findings, communicate these findings, set up a quarantine, survey to define the pest location, and determine possible actions.
- We may use the Incident Command System. This organizes people and activities, often from several groups, so the response is rapid, organized, and effective.
- We may take actions to remove the pest, contain the pest to one area, and/or reduce its effects.
