The Flora of North America Editorial Center for Bryophytes is now hosted by the Missouri Botanical Garden. Please direct all inquiries to Lead Editor Richard H. Zander, Missouri Botanical Garden, PO Box 299, St. Louis, MO 63166-0299, email: richard.zander@mobot.org.

The Center coordinates and facilitates the preparation, by more than 80 specialists worldwide, of volumes 27, 28 and 29 of the Flora of North America (FNA). The FNA is a projected 30-volume compendium of information on the native and introduced plants of North America north of Mexico, including Greenland.

FNA volumes 27, 28 and 29 concern nearly 1900 species of North American bryophytes: the mosses, liverworts and hornworts, and together are called the Bryophyte Flora of North America. Descriptions, illustrations and maps aid in species identification and evaluation of species biodiversity. This Web site supports peer-reviewed "Provisional Publication" of the treatments as they are being finished, before eventual publication as bound volumes by Oxford University Press. Volume 27 appeared in hard copy from Oxford University Press in July 2007. See frontispiece below.

This Web site is for the authors, editors and reviewers of the BFNA, and also for the public, which supports the work and will use it in education, and to guide human interaction with our environment. The FNA Bryophyte Editorial Center in St. Louis is crewed by Richard H. Zander, Lead Editor, and Patricia M. Eckel, Illustrator.

Taxon Editors are Patricia Eckel, Missouri Botanical Garden, St. Louis; Terry McIntosh, University of British Columbia, Vancouver; Dale Vitt, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale; David Wagner, Northwest Botanical Institute;. Alan Whittemore; U.S. National Arboretum. The Nomenclatural Editor is Robert Magill, Missouri Botanical Garden.

The official site for the vascular plant volumes of the FNA is: http://hua.huh.harvard.edu/FNA/
