Photo of Community's Pima-Maricopa Irrigation ProjectCommunity's Pima-Maricopa Irrigation Project - As part of the American Reinvention and Recovery Act (ARRA), funding has accelerated construction of the Community's Pima-Maricopa Irrigation Project, part of the Central Arizona Project's distribution system within the Community, which is located southwest of Phoenix. The Pima Lateral Canal is the main water conveyance feature of the water delivery system, which will ultimately deliver water to as many as 146,000 acres of Community lands each year.

Photo of Rock Slough Fish ScreenRock Slough Fish Screen – Contra Costa Water District - Contra Costa Water District in California, constructed a state-of-the-art fish screen at the District's Rock Slough Intake, which is located in eastern Contra Costa County at the start of the Contra Costa Canal. With the completion of this project, all four of the District's intakes are now fully screened. This gives the District increased operational flexibility to protect sensitive fish species in the Delta and its access to the Delta as a water source. The $28 million project was built jointly by the District and the Bureau of Reclamation with 100-percent federal funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
