Zebra Mussel Found at Geist Means Trouble (Apr 19, 2010)
Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
An adult zebra mussel has been discovered in the Geist Reservoir, marking the first time that the mussel has been found in the Indianapolis area. The zebra mussel has been previously found in more than 65 bodies of water in 44 counties throughout Indiana.

Governor Daniels Creates Invasive Species (Council) Task Force in Indiana (Aug 13, 2009)

Using a pen made from the invasive grass phragmites, Governor Mitch Daniels signed into law legislation creating the state Invasive Species Council.

Invasive Plant Species Assessment Working Group.
To identify which gardening plants are invasive in Indiana, a partnership called the Invasive Plant Species Assessment Working Group (IPSAWG) was formed. The many agencies and organizations listed in the brochure worked together to assess dozens of species used in landscaping to determine which were invasive or potentially invasive, and to develop recommendations for the use of each of the species. This brochure contains the results and recommendations from this effort.
