The NOAA Habitat Restoration Monitoring (NOHARM) map combines Google Maps technology with ESRI's ArcGIS Server and ArcIMS products to create a comprehensive resource for monitoring and assessment of the coastal habitat.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries (NMFS), and the National Centers for Environmental Information at Stennis teamed to develop the NOAA Habitat Restoration Monitoring (NOHARM) website. Data presented there are part of an experimental approach to monitoring selected NOAA-sponsored restoration projects. The initial focus is on projects funded by the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act (CWPPRA).
Data include overhead imagery, ground truth photographs, metadata, summary reports, briefings, and interactive capabilities to:
- select overhead imagery for an animated view of change over time
- relate ground truth to overhead imagery
