National Youth Gang Center To Merge With National Gang Center

National Gang Center bannerSince 1995, OJJDP's National Youth Gang Center has addressed issues involving juvenile gang members, featuring prevention and intervention efforts and promoting a comprehensive strategy to combat gangs. On October 1, the National Youth Gang Center will merge with the National Gang Center, currently funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance. The functions performed by the National Youth Gang Center will continue, but its incorporation into an expanded National Gang Center will leverage resources more efficiently. More icon
 Report Reviews Child Welfare Indicators
The Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics has released “America's Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being, 2009.” OJJDP is one of the 22 Federal agencies that constitute the Forum. This year's comprehensive report tracks three demographic background measures and 40 key indicators and features children with special health care needs. More icon

 National Association of Youth Courts To Provide Training in Baltimore

On August 24-25, the National Association of Youth Courts will conduct its regional Share, Learn, and Connect Regional Training Conference in Baltimore, MD. Experienced trainers will provide information on how to develop a youth court and how to enhance the effectiveness of established youth courts. A conference brochure is available online. More icon
